Lea and I have known each other virtually for almost a year. She’s a fellow photographer from California whom I met through a professional online course. After having weekly accountability video chats for so many months we were both excited when an opportunity showed up for me to visit her in California in January.
We spent a day together exploring beautiful Orange County and taking branding portraits of each other whenever we spotted a great light or location. Warmth, sun, ocean, old architecture and beautiful nature were all so inspiring! Southern California looks so different than Wisconsin in January that I was literally seeing perfect photo ops almost every few steps. Photographers are always behind the camera, and as a result we usually don’t have many photos of ourselves. It was a great experience for both of us to be a model for a day. And we’ll now have branding images to use online for our own brands!
Thanks Lea for an awesome day! You’re a bright and shiny soul and I loved hanging out with you in person! Now it’s your turn to come and visit Midwest, but probably not in January š

Lavanya and Sri have lived in Middleton, WI for several years and this spring they plan to move to Idaho. Lavanya reached out to me because she was interested in documenting their Wisconsin life in a storytelling family session approach that would capture several important locations and activities their family enjoyed here. Their sons attend a local preschool and elementary school, so we took a few photos around both buildings to document their daily adventures.
The two boys especially adored living my the train tracks and admiring trains through the window, so we planned a few photos in the old Middleton depot area. To our surprise, when we were there we heard a train approaching! We were all delighted at the synchronicity and quickly moved to a safe spot to document it passing by. It was a perfect “cherry on top” and we couldn’t have planned it better. I love how things magically work out like this š

Megan is a beautiful and inspiring soul, full of light, joy and love. She’s radiating good energy that’s almost palpable. When we were planning her personal branding session one of the stories she wanted to capture was about her as a curator of beautiful spaces. Megan already created a warm and welcoming community at Perennial Yoga in Fitchburg, WI. Now she is designing a new studio on the east side of Madison. We started the session at historic Garver Mill building which is still being renovated. It was quite adventurous to photograph in this rough, unfinished environment. I can already imagine how next year Megan, with her magic touch, will transform this place into another heart opening space.
We continued our shoot in Fitchburg,Ā first at and then around Perennial Yoga Studio. The moment you enter the building you feel an atmosphere of peace, well-being andĀ loving-kindness. The studio has beautiful rooms curated to the elements. Warm colors and the smell of soothing incense fills the air.Ā Megan created a magical placeĀ with a friendly, warm and welcoming community spirit.
The building is surrounded by serene prairie lands. We planned to be there just in time for the most stunning light. I just LOVE images of Megan channeling her inner goddess Kali in thisĀ beautiful setting.
Megan wanted to include her two right hands in the studio – Lauren and Clare in some of the images. We met with them for some fun and joyful photos at the beach just in time for a gorgeous sunset.

Personal Branding Session with Lisa – Social Media Photography, Madison, WI

I’m happy to share Lisa’s personal branding session with you today!Ā Lisa is building a direct selling business that focuses on clean beauty and self love, along with the freedom that comes from being an entrepreneur. She wanted to create lifestyle images that tell that story and help her be a better face of her brand.
Her main intention for the shoot was to create a library of custom social media photos. She plans to use them in her Instagram and Facebook feed to showcase the skincare products she offers, as well as and highlight her focused, calm, intentional life filled with gratitude. Lisa wanted to share the FUN of living a life you have dreamed of and purposely built for yourself.
I loved this session for many reasons. One of them was the dogs of course š Lisa’s dogs and quality time with them are very important to her and the puppies clearly stole the show in some of the photos. Another was Lisa’s desire for a strictly lifestyle approach for this session. She wanted most of the photos to “catch her in the act” of showing up with love and grace. Her vision was to be doing the ordinary with a little style. I think we achieved that and I’m looking forward to see how it will help her brand stand out and elevate to a different and higher client attraction.

Blogging Grace’s session makes me miss fall! We met at Devil’s Lake SP and then finished her session in downtown Sauk Prairie area, getting the best of both worlds. I first met Hannah’s a few years ago when I shot her older sister’s senior pictures. This year we met again, on a gorgeous October morning, this time for Hannah’s senior portraits. It was a different kind of session and definitely a very fulfilling one! Hannah lives in her own beautiful world and there’re only fleeting moments of connection with her, but when they happen it’s pure and loving energy. She clearly was most engaged in the presence of her sister Sarah. It was amazing to watch the relationship the two girls have and capture it for their parents. When we first worked together they admitted that they hadn’t had family pictures done since the girls were very little. I’m happy we had a couple of opportunities to create portraits for them that I know they’ll cherish for years to come.

After a busy fall season it’s time to do some catching up on the blog. Today I want to share with you personal brand photos from a golf course! Barry is soon launching a new online business geared towards sales professionals who love golf. He was looking for fresh personal brand images to promote this new venture.Ā We met on a sunny October Sunday at The Bridges Golf Course in Madison and had almost entire course for ourselves.Ā This was actually my first time riding a golf cart and it was quite a lot of fun!

We had such a great time capturing a variety of images during Katie’s personal branding session.Ā Katie wears many entrepreneurial hats. She is a coach, a yogi, a speaker, tattooed mama and the chief rebel behind Rebel Wellness LLC.Ā Her start-up is dedicated to empowering women to feel strong and confident in their bodies, love their bodies and themselves each and every day.Ā Katie knew that in order for Rebel Wellness to be a success, she needed to be front and center of the brand, walking the walk and talking the talk. In her personal branding photos she wanted to project fearlessness, playfulness, confidence and āI donāt care what other people thinkā attitude.Ā I think KatieĀ embodied her brand perfectly during the experience. Her genuine, warm and fun personality shines in these photos and I’m excited to see how she uses them online to connect with her tribe of women who are looking forward to guidance on how to feel AWESOME about themselves in their everyday life. We shot at three different locations in Madison, with a mix of outdoors and indoors. This provided a variety to her library ofĀ images; she’ll be able to keep them fresh for months to come!
