During our recent visit to Grandma, we saw how she was puzzled as to why she was mailed a large white envelope containing a copy of Country Magazine. Grandma slowly paged through the issue of that magazine. At the end, still surprised at finding nothing, she was about to set down the magazine when – Surprise!

At the top of a photograph on the back cover she discovered something she submitted long ago. It was a story about a quote her dad put on the front door of their farmhouse; “Whatever you are, be a good one”. Years later Grandma discovered that the saying came from Abraham Lincoln. In sharing this story with the publication, grandma demonstrated both her skill as an author and lived by the words of this quote. She definitely IS a good one in all she is and does. As you can see, grandma is glowing with happiness and pride (and she also made sure all of her kids got a copy of that back cover 🙂 )
