For two reasons this was a very special engagement session. First was Amber’s idea to include her horses in it. Since I’ve never done a horseback riding engagement photos before I was all for it. Second was the fact that several years ago I shot Jed’s senior photos (you might recognize him from this session). It is always an amazing experience to follow my clients’ lives and a huge honor to document significant life events for them. We met at the top of the hill in the Wisconsin Heights area and it was beautiful up there. The trees were in bloom, the grass was vibrant green, the weather was perfect and… the mosquitoes were swarming. You might probably see some when you look closely, but Amber and Jed were so beautifully into each other and so clearly in love that they didn’t pay much attention to this small distraction. They were both so easy to shoot, which I can’t tell about the horses 🙂 It might have been easier with just one animal but to have two of them posing nicely was quite a challenge. Nevertheless, we made it work and I just love how their horseback riding engagement photos turned out. Amber and Jed, thank you both for having me capture your love. I can’t wait to have you both in front of my camera again next year!
