Trip to Warsaw
Spring was full of travels for me and the last trip was another unexpected visit in Warsaw. In May I went to Poland to be with my mom, who had a serious heart operation and needed some help at home while she was recovering. Most of my time was spent with her but I also had some opportunities to play tourist and wander around Warsaw. It’s amazing how fast this city is changing, how many new buildings are showing up and how many old ones are restored to their previous glory. Sometimes the contrast is quite striking.
One of the most fun days for me was walking around Warsaw with my camera and hunting for murals. I’ve never paid much attention to Warsaw street art, and was really impressed with what I found. Here are some of Warsaw murals I stumbled upon…
And this one is still in the making…
As you can see, even Frank Underwood made onto one of the Warsaw walls 🙂
On Próżna Street I saw this cool display of several historic street name plaques. The first one is partly written in Russian and comes from the times when Warsaw was part of Russian Partition.
These colorful old vans from the communist times now serve as tour buses 🙂
Saxon Garden is one of the most beautiful parks in Warsaw, but it was also fun to see how people are making gardens in the most random places…
I thought I’d skip visiting Warsaw Old Town this time around but somehow my feet just took me there… No regrets 🙂
My last day in Warsaw was a sunny Sunday and my mom and I went to visit the largest and probably the most beautiful park in Warsaw – Royal Lazienki Museum. We got there just in time for an outdoor Chopin concerts that take place every weekend in the summer by Chopin’s monument (which, by the way, is my favorite monument in Warsaw).
Today we’re leaving for another big trip, this time with my family, so soon I’ll more travel photos to share on the blog. Till then!
