Today I’ll share some highlights from Renee and Karl’s Sauk Prairie wedding on the blog. They both traveled from Iowa to Wisconsin to celebrate their day with family and friends. It was a perfect Indian summer day, warm, dry, full of beautiful fall colors and love all around. We started at St John’s Lutheran church in Prairie du Sac where everybody was getting ready. Renee’s Mom and bridesmaids helped her achieve an absolutely stunning look. Karl and his groomsmen took care of dressing themselves and it was funny to see them all challenged with putting their ties on, although they were very efficient with boutonnieres. Renee asked for a photo including all the wedding guests attending the ceremony, and with some help from the pastor we able to capture that just before they left the sanctuary as husband and wife.
First look with Dad…
They don’t do it everyday, I guess… The bathroom mirror helped a lot 🙂
Seeing his Bride for the first time…
She was beautifully glowing like this all day.
This was such a great idea!
Cute moment with Renee’s older brother…
After the ceremony and family pictures we went to the park by the river for wedding party photos. To our surprise it was full of groups of high school kids dressed up for their homecoming pictures. Fortunately we were able to find some empty spots with great light. The colors just started to turn and it was beautiful there.
After the photos we headed to Roxbury for the rest of the celebrations at the Dorf Haus. This is one of the most popular local wedding venues and it’s famous in the area for its good German inspired food. The food was indeed great, people were happy, toast were funny and moving and everybody was there to support Renee and Karl on one of the most important days of their life. Thank you guys so much for having me! Capturing your day was a great pleasure. Congrats again and again!!
They were happy to share the first bites of their wedding cake.
And here you may recognize our wonderful neighbor Phyllis. At 94 she was still the star of the dance floor 🙂
