Brandy and Casey – Wedding Photography, Platteville WI

This was a definitely wedding to remember… The forecasts were predicting severe thunderstorms when I was leaving my house to drive to Potosi, WI where Brandy and Casey were going to have an outdoor wedding ceremony in the woods. It started to rain almost immediately after I got there. We did “the first look” in a drizzle and then continued with wedding party photos even though it started to rain pretty steady by then. When we got to the beautifully decorated ceremony site skies were gloomy, dark, with occasional lightning; everything was completely wet. We didn’t give up though and after a while–just in time before the guests started to arrive–the rain stopped almost miraculously and the sun came out. This was like it was meant to be 🙂 Brandy and Casey had a very personal wedding. I especially loved their unity ceremony. Instead of candles or sand they chose to seal a wooden box… Before that though they put in a bottle of wine and a bottle of Jack Daniels together with wine glasses and love letters. And then they pounded it shut. The plan is to open it after their first argument or five years, whichever comes first. Seeing how great and natural they are together I’m predicting that this wine will have 5 years to age :-). The day ended up with amazing skies and a party in a barn. Brandy and Casey, thank you both for choosing me to capture your day! Enjoy your honeymoon, stay happy and keep smiling!
