Jena and Alex couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for their fall wedding. We started the day at Alex’s parents farm where everybody was getting ready. First was… 1st look. It’s usually just the bride and groom for these photos but this time the pictures were photobomed by their chocolate lab Jack, who found something super interesting on the ground and didn’t care to move. Jena and Alex are both awesome, fun and bursting with energy people. They started laughing the moment they saw each other and didn’t stop through the end of the day. After the bride and groom portraits we had just enough time for some wedding party photos (again photobomed by Jack) and then everybody was off to the ceremony location in Sauk City.
The Freethinkers’ Hall, where the ceremony took place, is a gorgeous historic building with lots of character and full of beautiful natural light. I loved the personal vows that Alex and Jena wrote to each other. Everybody seemed surprised that Alex turned out to be quite a poet and after he finished reading, both Jena and the officiant, as well as almost half of the guests attending the ceremony were moved to tears.
Jena had a tissue ready just in case, but the officiant – Steve wasn’t prepared and had to use his hands to dry out his eyes…
In no time everyone was back to laughing again and it all ended with a big jump off the stage and a huge group photo of all the guests on the front steps.
Sweet moment with Jena’s Mom…
After a quick stop at a local bar it was time for the party at… the Dorf Haus! If you follow the blog you probably know that it was my fourth time this fall at this popular local Sauk City wedding venue.
A quick family photo before the toasts. Boden couldn’t be happier that his parents are married 🙂
Getting ready for the first dances. There were actually four at this wedding as Jena and Alex’s son also wanted to dance with his mom. Congrats to you all guys! I love your larger than life personalities and I had lots of fun documenting your day.Thank you so much for having me and keep smiling!
