Jason is in his senior year at Middleton High School. When he was five he wanted to be an astrophysicist but he’s not so sure about it anymore and is still working on figuring out what passion to follow after graduation. We drove around Middleton to look for best spots for his senior pictures and were able to find some great nature as well as urban backgrounds. Jason’s little sisters came along for his senior session and I was able to capture a few fun moments of them together. I also convinced his mom to jump into one of the photos and Jason’s Dad was later very grateful for that – it was a perfect portrait for his office desk 🙂 Have a great senior year, Jason! (and thanks for waking up early on a Sunday morning to finish your session :))

Baraboo wedding photographer

LOCATION: Baraboo WI wedding

VENUE:   Baraboo Arts Banquet and Convention Center wedding

BRIDAL SALON: Brides n’ Belles, Reedsburg, WI

Cassandra and Andy’s Baraboo Arts Banquet Hall wedding was my last wedding for this year and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up the season. I loved everything about this wedding! We started the day at the Ho-Chunk Casino and Hotel in Wisconsin Dells where everybody was getting ready. First I documented Cassandra’s mom and sister helping her look gorgeous in her elegant wedding dress. Then it was time to catch a few of Andy’s finishing touches and off to Baraboo for the first look by the Circus World Museum. Both Andy and Cassandra were glowing with happiness when they first saw each other. It always feels so special to capture these few very intimate emotional moments. Next stop was Devil’s Lake State Park for some bride and groom portraits and a few shots with the best man and maid of honor. It was a warm gently overcast day – perfect light for portraits! Both Cassandra and Andy looked stunning and were so beautiful together that I could have photographed them for hours but we had to come back to Baraboo Arts Banquet Hall just in time before the guests arrived for the ceremony and reception. Historic Baraboo Arts building  has lots of character and is an awesome venue for a wedding. I liked how all the wedding details were thoughtfully chosen and perfectly coordinated with the vintage feel of the location. Cassandra and Andy, thank you so much for having me capture your big day, it was a great one! Congrats to you both!

I love senior sessions! They always turn out to be a wonderful opportunity for me to get to know some amazing young people. Kaitlin is in her senior year at Mt Horeb High School and has some great ideas about what she wants to do with her life after graduation. I loved to listen to  her talk about her dreams for the future and plans for continuing her education at a college in Washington DC. Kaitlin wanted to combine nature as well as some urban backgrounds for her senior portraits, so we decided to check out two locations close to each other that offered a nice variety. Thanks for your willingness to explore, get wet and muddy with me, Kaitlin! Best wishes, you deserve all the success that comes your way!

Global Association Of Holistic Psychotherapy and Coaching helps all kinds of holistic practitioners to grow personally while supporting them in developing a thriving holistic business.  Last weekend I put on my “Madison event photographer” hat and captured their live 3-day business workshop delivered at The Fluno Center by the founder and president of GAHP, Shelly Riutta. As you may know, I am very passionate about everything holistic, so it was a great experience to spend a weekend among holistic therapists, energy healers, coaches and health practitioners. It was also interesting to see how they have similar challenges to photographers (and possibly a long list of other businesses) in growing their businesses. What Shelley was teaching could easily be applied to any service oriented industry, and this thought was validated when I learned that one of the participants was an electrician! 🙂 Below are some photos from the award ceremony and the GAHP Live Event. Enjoy!

Spring Green Wi wedding at the Wintergreen Lodge

LOCATION: Spring Green WI wedding

VENUE:   The House on the Rock Resort and the Wintergreen Lodge wedding

BRIDAL SALONS: Moments to Cherish Bridals

FLORIST: Garden Laurels by Donna Sager

CAKE ARTIST: Tina K Cakes

BAND/DJ: Who Knew Entertainment

BEAUTY: ANiU Salon and Spa

It was a beautiful but also very hot and humid day. I met Cori at her bridal suite at The House on the Rock Resort and we started with some getting ready photos. I was nicely surprised how clean and tidy the girls’ room was! It doesn’t happen often that I don’t have to move anything to get a cleaner background. 🙂 When the bride was dressed and ready I went to see the guys to capture a few finishing shots of Joe getting ready (their room needed some attention :)). After that was the first look and then we headed to The Wintergreen Lodge, a beautiful venue sitting on the bluff overlooking the Wisconsin River, where the ceremony and reception were taking place. Before the guests arrived we had time for some bride and groom portraits as well as fun wedding party pics. The ceremony on the terrace was full of emotions, Corinne and Joe exchanged very personal vows and even though the guests were almost melting in the hot sun they were all very moved as well. After the ceremony everybody quickly went inside to cool down and to party! Cori and Joe, it was a pleasure to capture and be part of your wedding day. I wish you a lifetime of happiness, love and laughter!

Quinn is with the Senior Class of 2014 at Sauk Prairie High School. His dream is to become a physical therapist in the future and he does what he can to keep himself in a great shape. One of the locations we used for his senior session was an outdoor swimming pool and even though it was a quite cool morning Quinn was ready to brave the cold water for some swimming senior pictures. Thanks for a fun session and a new for me swimming pool experience, Quinn! Enjoy your senior year and good luck with everything you do!

Wisconsin Dells wedding photographer

LOCATION: Wisconsin Dells wedding

VENUE:  Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness Resort

BRIDAL SALONS: Specially Hers and Brides n Belles

FLORIST: Amber Moon Floral

CAKE ARTIST: Elite Catering & Bakery

Amanda and Mark travelled all the way from California for their Glacier Canyon Lodge wedding in Wisconsin Dells. A few months ago Mark got a job in San Jose, CA and their local wedding turned into a destination one 🙂 The guests also came from far away. Mark is originally from Canada so his family and friends had quite a way to travel as well. It was a beautiful sunny day and we started with some getting ready photos at the resort. When Amanda was all dressed we headed outside for a first look and some portraits of the bride and groom. I love first looks! Very often it’s the only time of the day when the couple has a few intimate moments with each other. It was so hot, humid and bright but the patio turned out to have some nice open shade which was perfect light for photos. After some fun wedding party shots it was time for the beautiful outdoor ceremony and afterwards for more family photos. During the cocktail hour the wedding party decided to hit the bar at Marley’s and came back just in time for the grand march, the first dance and the party! Amanda and Mark, thank you for having me capture your special day! You’re perfect for each other and I know you’ll have a beautiful and adventurous life together. Here are some sneak peeks for you, enjoy!

Sauk Prairie wedding photographer

LOCATION: Sauk City, WI Wedding

CEREMONY: St Aloysius Church

Jacyntha and Jeff wanted to have an August wedding. Since they live in Oklahoma they knew that the temperatures in Tulsa might reach high 90-ties at the end of summer. Therefore instead of having it locally they decided to travel to beautiful and green Wisconsin and combine a short extended family vacation in Wisconsin Dells with an intimate  ceremony at St Aloysius church in Sauk City. I was really surprised when they shared that they’ve never been here before but they just thought that it’s a perfect place to be married. You don’t hear that a lot. 🙂 All 13 guests, just the closest family, traveled from different southern states to Wisconsin to witness Jacyntha and Jeff’s Sauk City wedding. I loved those few tender moments I was able to document  before the ceremony between Jacyntha and her Mom and Dad. You can see below how moved they were and how happy for their daughter, so special… After the ceremony and some family photos, we went for a walk along the Wisconsin River to capture beautiful bride and groom portraits. Jacyntha and Jeff, thank you for having me capture this special day. You are kind, warm and beautiful people and I’m happy our paths crossed. I wish you all the best in the years ahead!

Wisconsin Dells in a perfect location for summer family reunions. And family reunions offer a perfect opportunity for extended family photos. Beverly contacted me because her family was going to get together and spend a week at Spring Brook Resort. Since they all live in different parts of the country and don’t see each other often it was even more important to capture everyone together. We met at the resort, found a perfect spot with beautiful light and background and started with a few group shots, but we didn’t stop there…  There were so many other different configurations to cover – grandparents together, grandchildren, adult siblings, individual families, the list went on… Choosing clothes is very important for extended family portraits and I love how nicely coordinated their outfits were. All the pieces are not identical, but they come together to create a beautiful image. Below is a sample of their family reunion photos. Enjoy!

03-Allen_Centennial_Gardens_wedding_Madison_WI

LOCATION: Downtown Madison WI wedding

CEREMONY: Allen Centennial Gardens, University of Wisconsin, Madison

Lea and Jeff had a very sweet and intimate Allen Centennial Gardens wedding. With just the closest family and friends present they exchanged vows in the beautiful Wisconsin Woodlands part of the garden. After a lovely outdoor ceremony everybody got onto the bus and went for a ride around the UW campus, State Street and the Capitol — stopping at several thoughtfully chosen locations. Lea and Jeff’s story started on the UW Madison campus and they wanted to capture some of their favorite Madison spots on their wedding photos. Wedding guests enjoyed the ride in air conditioned comfort, while Bride and Groom were jumping on and off the bus and walking around downtown Madison in search of perfect photo locations. In fact, we hiked so much that in the end Lea decided to ditch her gorgeous and sassy blue wedding shoes and instead walked gracefully barefoot. Lea and Jeff, thank you so much for having me be part of your big day. I wish you both the very best and know that this coming year – when circumstances keep you apart – will pass quickly and you will enjoy many more happy years to come!
