Exploring Door County – Family Vacation
Seaside experience isn’t usually a part of Midwest living, however we just did have a taste of it during our Door County family vacation. Scenic shorelines, lonely lighthouses, picturesque waterfront villages, bucolic islands and incredible natural landscape – we found it all on this peaceful peninsula in Wisconsin northeast corner. With so much that Door County has to offer it would be a challenge to get bored there. For us it was a week of exploring the country side, enjoying the beaches, hiking in state parks, wine tasting, biking, kayaking and even zip lining for the first time.
Early morning kayaking in the pristine Mink River estuary was probably the most exciting adventure for us. Unfortunately my camera isn’t waterproof so it had to stay on dry land. And good that it did because we came back completely soaked by lake Michigan waves. Those beautiful early morning views will only stay in our memories, but here are other images I did manage to capture. Hopefully they’ll inspire you to explore Door County WI on your own. I promise, you won’t regret it π
