Empower Workshop with Steve Saporito
One of the things I like best about being self-employed is that it inspires me to pursue lots of growing opportunities as a photographer, a business person as well as a human being. I’m always on a growth and learning path and 2016 is not an exception. I started this year attending one of the best workshops for photographers in my life. It was six intense days in Portland, OR of transformational learning at “Empower” workshop with Steve Saporito and Kelly Vanyai. Steve and Kelly passionately teach photographers how to serve our clients better by providing an exceptional experience. We learned how to be truly present and really listen to client needs. We now understand better how to give our clients the opportunity to celebrate something every day and how to bring much more value than expected. How to make a difference in their lives. The shared ideas and concepts all resonated so deeply with me. It was a real treat to be there, together with a small group of other like-minded photographers and soak in all the knowledge. I feel so inspired now and can’t wait what 2016 will bring after I implement what we learned.
I spent most of the week indoors at the workshop and this is the view I saw everyday through the windows. Not much of a view actually…
We did have one day free, and I decided to spend it exploring Pearl District and downtown Portland on foot. Fortunately the weather also happened to be sunny and warm, the nicest day of the week. On my list was Powell’s City of Books – the largest bookstore in the country covering an entire city block, lunch from one of Portland’s famed food carts and a visit to Voodoo Doughnut, one of most unusual culinary destinations. Below are some photos from my 5 hour stroll around the city. Enjoy!
